This is also a place to just chat about anything in particular, that doesn't fit into any of the other subfora.

Lap swimming? Lake or pool? Just curious I used to swim competitively and started training again (Masters) in December, but had a minor health setback (you and I discussed - sleep regimen was key to recovery). Our local indoor community pool will reopen in a few weeks and I'll be back to training. It's one of the only exercises I enjoy, besides horseback riding and hiking. I see you're doing a PPio novena - is that perpetual? That is, do you do them back to back? I know you are very devoted. I began a novena to St. Michael today, great and mighty archangel.

I was ignorant about Linux like I am about a lot of computer things. Probably should catch up, especially since I want to upgrade the blog, which might include this forum. Toying with the name The Grapes of Wrath Forum. I didnt know Linux was this free thing for the www, which I like. Microsoft/Bill Gates is a monopolist and gives billions to extremely evil causes like population control. So I might just stick with Linux. But also have a Microsoft OS on the computer at the same time when I need their apps, etc.

I'm still waiting for Chestertonian and Pons to register. Let me know guys if there's a snag. Right now this forum being free, it's very limited what it can do. I swim in an indoor lap pool at a health club attached to a Catholic hospital down the road. Mostly breast and back stroke. Will you be training for competition? Today being St. Padre Pio's Feast day, I finished a novena to him, but I've been doing back to back novenas to him for a few months for my health recovery. Deo gracias my facial nerve injury and TMJ disorder has generally resolved, thanks to our humble, elfen Friar St Pio! A miracle worker. This really changed me. I do plan to keep praying to him everyday. My next blog post will be about how amazing he was/is. How is your sleep now?

Happy holy Sunday, friend! Both Ches and PDR would be invaluable additions to membership. Their commentary is singularly unique. They are in the number of those whose comments I take the time to read. The place where I swim is indoor also and yes, my target is to train to compete again! Free, butterfly and back. For some reason, I can't excel in breast stroke. Now see, this is where I get protective - not defensive - b/c I anticipate criticism (not you) from trads for immodesty. I wear a tech suit, which allows me to swim better, and bonus, it provides a higher level of modesty, but am I supposed to avoid a tremendous sport due to having to wear form fitting equipment? I just started fencing too, and movement with equipment is easier with slacks. Ditto horsebackriding and hiking. Ugh, I think I'm a miserable failure in the trad woman department in this regard. But WAY more important - I had a sneaking suspicion you were doing back to back novenas. I noticed your devotion to him exploded, and your threads on SD were so interesting and inspiring. Truth be told, my friend, you instigated a devotion to him on my part. Deo gratias that he interceded for you with your health! Sleep is good most nights now. You're so sweet to ask! Still following strict regimen, since I know sleep is where the healing happens You?

Catholic male camaraderie is critically important on many levels. You are blessed with true brotherhood, in His Holy Name. I installed Linux on my laptop 2 years ago, but haven't taken the time to learn more than bare bones basics. Let me know if you find a decent Linux for Dummies lol.

Dear Mod, finally made it to Okietrad, but I am not an Okie. But I am a trad and looking forward to reading posts and contributing. Not a great intellect, but I know much about the struggles and triumph of us trads. Hope I can keep up here and be a true contributor.
Today, I was lazy. Not proud of it, but it's the truth. I ate 2 pieces of toast a piece of chicken, a piece of apple, and said my rosary. Due for another. My faithful dog is by my side and knows when it is rosary time. He just stays by us and meditates on the mysteries. He is very Catholic. Truth.

Dear Per, I think sisterhood is very valuable, too. Beer, cigar? Ok. I'm there.

My psychic powers are telling me you live on a farm, deal with chronic pain, and are a mother of a big trad family? Am I close? ☺
