Dear mod, you should know by now I don't operate that way. No, I am not offended by your assertion that I was bugged. I'll let you know if I am irritated. Promise. Again, it'll take more than that! Hmmm. Well the ladies are certainly welcome here at OkieTradCats. And they are free to form their Sewing Circle. But, I think everyone would agree they can devolve into a catty Mother Hen Circle, like they often do in the main forums. Ie, in my 17 years of experience on 6 different trad forums. (FE for 10 yrs, then AQ 1 year, then IA/CI during the whole Williamson affair,a short stop at TD, and last 2 years just SD. Usually just lurking with occasional posts) The same holds true for the men. When we get blue balls and are overworked we turn into assholes, and then our Cigar Clubs devolve into Fight Clubs. Either case violates the spirit of the 1st Rule of the forum (the Golden rule, that is), which may result in a ban, at the sole discretion of the moderator. Even if this little online Okie hub stays small for a while, at least it serves as an Information Board for networking Okie Trads. There's just a few of us so far posting, but there's dozens lurking, reading what we say. My philosophy of moderating will be just a few basic, common sense rules enforced when necessary with a Big Stick. Was it FDR who said "Speak softly and carry a big stick?" Or maybe it was Truman??

Don't sew, but who cares. Just joined out of a desire to see this do well. Not much of a forum girl, but a girl I am. Will try not to throw around my progesterone bombs and just be your lurker. When I have to, I will respond, but I don't plan on overwhelming this fledgling site with talk of makeup, clothing and food. Not being Okie, I probably have very little to offer or nothing to offer as far as the local theme here. God bless this forum.

Hopeful is banned for 1 day for still being catty in this post and others (see post #1 in homeless Lewis thread). I am adding a rule about sewing circles and fight clubs. I want this little place to be peaceful and functional, unlike all the other trad forums.

Had to ban a friend for 1 day today. Made me feel sad inside. Had ta do it. Hanging out right now at Panera bread on my new laptop (thanks to "Anoynmous" donor on the blog). Drinking from one of those old-fashioned coffee cups like you see in diners. Trying to tune out the Michael Bolton music, and chatter of progressive elites in the background; but perhaps with some relief from the hillbillies. Good long talk today with a trusted soul. Praying for a friend I've known for quite a while. Trying to fulfill my duties of state. Planning a birthday cake I'll make this weekend for my brother-in-law's b-day (to look like a computer--he's a big computer guy) Its starting to get chilly outside. Time for a fire. Thankful for priests in Oklahoma who say the TLM. Planning a Podcast with Sir Charles Coulombe, author/speaker, tradcat, expert on monarchy. For next week, or thereafter.

Greek festival this weekend!
Looking forward to even cooler temps.
Trying to get in shape enough to do a short 2 day backpacking trip (ultralight backpacking = no tent, pack weight < 20 lbs.)
Flu shot.
Contemplating the hiking trail that is my life (aka the race of life as St. Paul says).
Speechless about the latest mass shooting.
Looking forward to Mass tomorrow.

Sounds like a good day, Mod. Hope you get everything done you want to get done. How was the Greek festival? So far so good. Just finished a long blog--just posted it. Off to the car wash now, then sister's, then home. Hope to squeeze in an hour or two tonight at the Greek festival. They close at 11pm. If so, I'll blog about it later. htgoctulsa.org/How's your weekend Hopeful??

My weekend began crummy, but it is on track now. Had a quiet day. Still do not have our car. Should have had it friday, but dealership sent a broken headlight, so won't have it until tues. Had plans go to daughters home in port huron, on friday. Instead I spent the evening with the choir, which is a blessing to me. Will be able to go on this coming thursday. Just need to be more patient. Oct 13 we have a procession and Mass with reception following. Really looking forward to it. Hope you and the Mrs. are well. Is she going hiking, too?

Had other duties for a few days, away from my 2 fav forums, now catching up.
Admin, honestly, I lol'd when I read your comment that you were banning hopeful for a day - I thought you were being facetious! But dang, you were serious! I totally get your reasoning, but I think you misunderstood h and/or taken her sometimes quick hit and run style of writing too literally. I love you two, and I like to think I know your styles quite well. I'm pretty sure h doesn't have a passive aggressive bone in her body. A lot of times her responses are off the top of her head (and often funny as heck), and may give an incorrect hint that she is annoyed or something. But that's just not her character at all. She is pretty forthright, no passive aggessive. One of few females I trust in this regard (why I stay away from female cliques btw). But, you both are still best buds, so all's well that ends well in charity. XXX000
I really enjoy following your daily trek, Admin. I can see you are light years ahead in physical health than, say, a year ago. Hard work on your part, and it's paying off, Deo gratias. What are your supplement preferences, may I ask?
Swimming regimen begins again Tuesday. Our local indoor facility was closed for renos for months, so I've been trying to stay strong with Rock Solid vibration machine, exercises that concentrate on nitric oxide dump, yard work and limited hiking (time wise) with dogs. And I picked up fencing in Feb, suspended since July, resuming end of month.
Happy, holy day of the Lord, all. AMDG

Annnyyyway, right my health crisis started last January, thanks be to God and padre pio Im generally recovered. Still have some mild facial pain, plus a strange kind of fatigue, but daily swimming is what helps the most. Now Im kicking ass with work, projects, and gearing up to finish school (I barely made it to one month before graduation). Just wrote a short book about history of Latin Mass in Eastern Oklahoma. Posted to the blog. I take 1000 mg of Vitamin C a day, a decent multivitamin, and sublingual Vitamin B12. Sometimes 1-3 mg of melatonin, but fortunately sleep is mostly normalized. I recall 8 weeks of extreme insomnia from Jan - March due to constant pain (back, then weird facial nerve injury). I dont know, maybe at some point I could write about the health crisis I survived. It was other-wordly, completely changed my life for the better! Are you yet recovered from your adrenal fatigue syndrome? Im thinking that could take quite a while.

Mass. Coffee with parish guys. Chinese buffet. Nap. Finished writing book up at Panera. Posted to blog. Chatted with Fr Z, and also SSPX US District Superior (fun!). Emailed a couple priests about re-starting the Byzantine Mass (Divine Liturgy) in T-town. Prepping for podcast with Sir Charles Coulombe. One week until the Great Chastisement.

I was mentioned on the first page of the thread, so I thought it worth trying to figure out how to register. (I finally did). ProBoards wouldn't allow me to register with "Pon de Replay," but then I realized that it won't let you register with any name containing spaces. So I registered as "Pons" and made "Pon de Replay" my display name. I would like to thank Chris for the invite and PerEvangelicaDicta for the compliment, but I don't see myself making too many contributions here. It may be the case that some forum owners permit a wide latitude on certain subjects, but at this point I'm not sure that's something I'd want to take advantage of. On Suscipe Domine I've seen Kaesekopf receive a lot of biteback for his forbearance of Fatima skeptics (of which he is one) and outright Fatima deniers, but also for his tolerance of posters hostile to traditional Catholicism, such as a brittle and epistemologically precise Vatican II apologist (Quaremerepulisti), an open atheist (Kirin), and some sort of Ayn Randish existentialist (The Crimson Flyboy / Probius). Unfortunately there is a reputational price to pay for open dialogue—and even if the owner is willing to pay that cost, I'm nevertheless leery of personally being the cause of it.

Ya finally made it over here to our quiet little corner of the www. I think I have 2 months left on my self-imposed ban from Shuuship. Lotta good people there, but your typical trad forum dynamic. For now you could think of this place like a meeting of Treebeards in LOTR. Slooow, quieeet, thouuughtfuul. It might take months or years to become known, but that's okay. You always offered the most intelligible and gentlemanly discourse, so you are most welcome. I know you love tradition and hate modernism, so that makes you a trad in my book. And Im glad we have trads joining from other states. We just need to recruit Ches, Non Nobis, Matto, and Gardener. Just finished morning shift, about to swim then run an errand before evening shift. Hoping priests I emailed about restarting a local Byzantine Mass will respond. Trying to figure out how to do a podcast soon, with Sir Charles Coulombe. Thank God for life and His mercy!
