That is an excellent point. I grew up in a military household with lots of brothers, and their friends were my friends, so I had an overarching male influence in my development. It wasn't until high school on that I observed the nature of women in a group. And in my adulthood I've observed similar behaviors with trads. One example pertaining to me: I found out the gossip was that we attended an FSSP Mass on occasion (and when traveling and no TLM available, a NO Mass). I had conveyed that info in casual conversation at a women's coffee after Mass, and boy did that get around. Punishment: I no longer received emails from the group of women who communicated interesting trad info, and their warmth became a little chilly. Interestingly, and perhaps anecdotal, but we don't find that behavior at our - now - FSSP parish. Not even a little bit. I always used to keep my nose clean and avoid 'women's groups', but the one darned time I made an exception re: women only get togethers - bam, hero to zero in one fell swoop lol. Fast forward, I've no doubt that the gathering (women's subforum) that hopeful is referring to on SD is very edifying. I've observed the ripple effect of those women on other threads (in the main forum) that hopeful created (honestly, she is the uber gracious hostess hands down!), and they are so kind, and hilarious at times, and supportive, and interesting. I think our mighty moderator would agree. It should be the model for how trad women groups should be run, imho. Thanks to hopeful and some others, I'm considering joining that subforum. Oh Per, you are too kind. Hosting a thread can be done by anyone. We just have the added pleasure of having an audience that is on our wavelength. You've probably spewed out of your nose one good cup of coffee, an appropriate response to the jokes and humor you read on our most silly posts. And yes, the women's thread is warm and the posters very amiable. Truly, in large part, thanks to you, dear hopeful. You are one of a kind and a treasure. Yes, I do believe I posted a comment that I was catching up on some back and forth in a thread, got caught off guard by some comments and laughed so hard my coffee 'discharged'. Our moderator here has been involved in some of the humor. Love his sense.

Due to you and people who get on board with those of us not up to theological debates, though I am certain you could hold your own just fine, PerE! Yes our dear moderator may have even discharged his own coffee at times, or been the provoker of nasal coffee discharges.

Holy Mass. Chinese food. Cigars at home. Figuring out VR goggles. Reviewing Aristotle's De Anima for a fun evening class next week. Then swim at the health club. Review teaching methods for teaching Chinese kindergardeners English online (a fun way to make extra $). Call mom, aunt, and sis. Finish cigars. Check email. Water garden. Order a red Trump hat. Watch the movie Bernie (very funny). To bed early. Happy Sunday.

A few Q's please? 1) who's offering fun evening classes of Aristotelian philosophy in your area?!! 2) What company do you use for teaching? There are a few decent ones. 3) Re: #2, is it a coincidence that you had Chinese food for dinner? Happy, holy Sunday all!

Tulsa has a Pastoral Studies Institute with free classes. I like the Thomistic ones. VIPKID. Teach Chinese kids English online. Ozarktrad told me about them. Always have as much work as you want with them. $20/hr lots of other similar companies. Good for me while I finish physical therapy school. Or good for housewives to make $ from home. I had Chinese buffet for lunch. A little bit of everything on the menu. You? Bernie from the movie (lol): pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1848848418/BERNIE_1sht_ONLINE_FIN.jpeg

Less oats and more almond flour would lower the glycemic index even more. Not concerned about that. But I know that would benefit you and your low carb eating. Bread turned out fantastic, if I may say so myself!

Less oats and more almond flour would lower the glycemic index even more. Not concerned about that. But I know that would benefit you and your low carb eating. Bread turned out fantastic, if I may say so myself! Yes, still doing low carb but slowly getting into ketosis. Mostly bullet proof coffee for breakfast, lasts me until dinner which is simple. Meat or fish and veggies (broccoli, spinach, kale, mushrooms). And of course my famous pork rind nachos when watching sports. When I finish school, I will be able to afford all sorts of nut and seed flowers, and then I'll ask the mrs. to bake me lots of LC bread, cakes, pies, cookies. I miss those things sometimes, even though my super low glycemic index foods make me forget about sweet foods. Now when you said "Not concerned about that" (ie lowering glycemic index), I sense you may have felt a bit of irritation that I brought that up, as a reply to what you said. The phrase, imo, has a sort of very subtle, irritated, abrupt meaning I am sure you did not intend to express. As if you were thinking "huh? why is he asking about glycemic index?? I'm just sharing with my girlfriends about baking bread?" I am already starting to smell a flow of estrogen here in this forum, mixed with testosterone, with curious vibrations, undertones, and subtexts. It should be interesting to see how the Cigar Club interacts with the Sewing Circle. PS glad you survived the accident with the semi truck.

Oh, Adam, simply stating a fact. Not irritated. Takes more than that for me to pull out my feminine passive agressive act. No, we're good! Don't look too deeply for my real meaning, because I will probably just say what I mean. I don't play head games. Never did. Not saying I'll never say things in a manner that could be construed as having hidden meaning. But that is not my goal. Just a simple girl here.

As to estrogen, inevitable unless you make this an all male forum!

Dear mod, you should know by now I don't operate that way. No, I am not offended by your assertion that I was bugged. I'll let you know if I am irritated. Promise. Again, it'll take more than that!

Dear mod, you should know by now I don't operate that way. No, I am not offended by your assertion that I was bugged. I'll let you know if I am irritated. Promise. Again, it'll take more than that! Hmmm. Well the ladies are certainly welcome here at OkieTradCats. And they are free to form their Sewing Circle. But, I think everyone would agree they cant devolve into a caddy Mother Hen Circle, like they do in the main forums. Ie, in my 17 years of experience on 6 different trad forums. The same holds true for the men. When we get blue balls and are overworked we turn into assholes, and then our Cigar Clubs devolve into Fight Clubs. Either case violates the spirit of the 1st Rule of the forum (the Golden rule, that is), which may result in a ban, at the sole discretion of the moderator. Even if this little online Okie hub stays small for a while, at least it serves as an Information Board for networking Okie Trads. My philosophy of moderating will be just a few basic, common sense rules enforced when necessary with a Big Stick. Was it FDR who said "Speak softly and carry a big stick?" Or maybe it was Truman??
